Video Thumbnail Maker
A cover is the first frame a viewer sees in a feed, and it is often the difference between a tap and a scroll. This browser-only maker turns one photo into a 1080 × 1920 PNG with a short title. The image never leaves your device: there is no upload, no account and no credit charge. It is designed for the vertical covers used by TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
- 1080 × 1920 vertical PNG export.
- Runs entirely in your browser.
- No upload, account or credits required.
- Safe-zone guides for feed and profile grids.

Why a custom cover lifts click-through
A feed shows a small, cropped version of your video's first frame. If that frame is dark, busy or has the subject at the edge, the post is hard to read. A cover with one clear subject, one short title and strong contrast is legible at thumbnail size. Keep the title to a few words; a sentence becomes unreadable when the cover is scaled down. Use a color that contrasts with the photo rather than matching it.
Safe zones for vertical video
TikTok, Reels and Shorts overlay interface elements on the right side and bottom of the frame. Keep faces and the title in the middle band. The maker draws a safe-zone guide so you can see where the platform chrome will sit. Do not put critical text in the bottom quarter, where captions and buttons appear. Leave a little breathing room around the subject so a center crop does not cut off the head.
How the browser-only maker works
The page reads the selected image with the browser's File API, draws it to a canvas at 1080 × 1920, adds the title and optional subline, and exports a PNG. No image data is sent to a server. That also means the tool works offline after the page loads, and it cannot recover a photo you close by accident. Export the PNG before leaving the page, and keep the original photo if you want to revise the cover later.
What this tool does not do
- It does not add music. The MP4 is silent; you add licensed audio in your own editor.
- It does not guarantee an exact likeness. Faces, hands and small details can change.
- It does not accept minors, public figures or anyone who has not consented.
- It does not reproduce a named celebrity, film character or copyrighted routine.

Questions people ask
Is the thumbnail maker free?
Yes. It runs in your browser and does not use credits, an account or an upload. There is no generated image cost because no AI model is called.
What size is the export?
1080 × 1920 pixels, a 9:16 vertical PNG suitable for TikTok, Reels and Shorts covers.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The image is read locally by your browser and drawn to a canvas. It is not sent to the site's servers.
Can I use a photo I do not own?
Only if you have permission. A photographer usually owns the copyright, even when the photo shows you. Do not use a brand logo or a celebrity image without a license.
Why is my text hard to read?
Use fewer words, increase the contrast and keep the title inside the safe zone. A busy background needs a solid text color or a darker photo.
Can I edit the cover later?
Keep the original photo and reopen the maker. The export is a flat PNG, so changes must be made from the source image again.
